About me
I’m Scott Moeller, the author of this blog. I am also one of the two authors of a book on the use of business and military intelligence in M&A deals (Intelligent M&A: Navigating the Mergers and Acquisitions Minefield), which was the initial impetus for this blog and is now in its second edition. In addition to that book, I have also published through Pearson a book of M&A case studies, which is also in its second (2007) edition. In July 2009, a new book, entitled Surviving M&A: Make the most of your company being acquired, was published by John Wiley.
When not writing, I am the Director of the M&A Research Centre at Cass Businss School in London, England where I am also a visiting professor. I am asked frequently to comment on television (BBC, Bloomberg, CNN, Sky News, CNBC, etc) and in the press (Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Sunday Times, Reuters, etc). Prior to Cass Business School, I also taught at Imperial College (Tanaka School of Management) and Oxford University. I moved relatively recently to academia. After getting my MBA at Yale, I was first a management consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton for six years and then an investment banker for 18 years (Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank) in the US, Japan, Germany, and the UK. While in investment banking, I was global head of a venture capital fund, a managing director responsible for new business acquisitions, and a country manager. On the personal side, I have four wonderful kids who range in ages from 5 to 23. Together with my wife, we all enjoy travelling.
